In memory of a departed friend, taken too soon from this life, Ray Lincoln, was a radio personality and talk show host in the Little Rock market in my native Arkansas. When I was living much too far in the future he once said to me 500 feet you know when you are driving on a deserted road late at night and all you can see is the headlights in front of you about 500 feet, such is how to live one's days not too far ahead on the road of life.

I used to think of myself as a musician but as time goes I think of myself more a sound maker.

I've always come to music with some degree of struggle, at times worrying I was 'tone deaf' and often going to great lengths to confirm that I wasn't. I'm not sure that ever mattered.

I play at several instruments, lap steel guitar and others, modular synth, tape loops and Pure Data.
